We found this home, located in the Redwood Heights neighborhood of Oakland. This was a foreclosure which we acquired from HUD in an as-is condition. At first sight, we knew we had a winner.
The home was built in 1916 and consisted of two bedrooms, one bath with a basement area that had been converted to a one bedroom, one bath, with a separate side entrance. The total square footage was 1042.

The home had an amazing transformation when we created an open floor plan. We increased ceiling height, bringing in natural light. Along with Bay views, new paint, flooring, updated baths, a new kitchen, including granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and cabinetry, the renovation was stunning. The downstairs converted basement area was included in the updated renovation and as named, truly became a “bonus room”.
Our improvements created a two bedroom, two bath home, plus the bonus room, for a total of 1328 square feet. The landscaping completed the transformation and appeal. This property was quickly purchased almost immediately after it came on the market.
